修身、齐家、治国、平天下
In order for us to have world peace, we must first govern a country well; to do so, we must first get our family in order; and it all begins with cultivating ourself first.

This man is Confucius (孔夫子).
Confucius speaks of the 3 core concepts, Li (礼), Yi(义) and Ren(仁). All of which refers to doing right for self and for others to build an ideal society for all to live in peace and harmony. Such ideals have been passed down and still been practiced today. Much of his teachings have shaped the beliefs and mindsets of people in the world, especially the east asian region.
Here are some of the classic teachings from Confucius that we believe have made the world a better place. More importantly, these teachings will continue to help make our world an even greater place to live in.

学而时习之,不亦乐乎?
Learn and practice what you have learnt frequently, a great pleasure is it not?
It is apparent that Confucius believes in learning and continuous self-inprovement. In our modern society now, doing so is ever more important. The world is changing so fast that we need to continuously keep up with new knowledge, new technology and new skills. Comfort zone is in fact a dangerous place to be in. Imagine a world, a society where everyone learns and aims to do better all the time.
But the secret to learning does not lie in just "learning" as in reading or watching or doing something. We believe that it all starts with the mind. Here, we will not discuss the wonderful discoveries of NLP concerning the process of learning (how to go from unconscious incompetence to conscious competence) or the Learning Zero-III personified by Gregory Bateson, a well known Anthropologist and Linguist. Perhaps we will feature such Whealers in the coming issues. What Confucius have emphasised when it comes to knowledge is the ability to be absolutely truthful to yourself.

知之为知之,不知为不知,是知也。
If there is something that you know, say that you know. If there is something that you do not know, say that you do not know. This is considered true knowledge
Some people have outstanding knowledge and skills, but choose to be "humble" and not show them. There are also those who have no clue, but will act as though an expert who knows it all. True knowledge spans from being truthful to ourselves first. This becomes the foundation for being able to learn.
Here, we have only displayed a drop of water in the ocean. Confucius has spoken a lot more words of wisdom that we can learn and help make the world a better place. If the above is all true, then does that mean all of Confucius teachings are all true and good? After all, Confucius was indeed a great philosopher and in our view a great Whealer. At the same time, knowing the nature of human beings, we are not perfect, so could some of Confucius's teachings we outdated and do not apply in today's context? Also, Confucius influenced the asian culture a great deal, does his philosophy apply in other parts of the world?
There are many areas we can discuss about, but the key is that he was an influential figure in history that has shaped our world the way it is today. In a positive way. Therefore he is a Whealer to us.
